Double Date

Finally, after months of planning and cancelling, Lea, Grady, Scott and I were able to go out on a double date!!! Our Christmas present from Mom and don (or as Lea calls them Dad and Bonny) was a $50 coin to III Forks and free babysitting.  It was so nice to go out with them and actually have a conversation without being interrupted by the kids or eating where it would be kid friendly.  Of course since Lea's birthday was at the end of February and Scott's had been a few days before I let them know so we could sing Happy Birthday (and get free dessert).

Daddy's Birthday

We began the celebration a few days early and took Daddy to The Red Elephant for dinner.  The kids love the pizza and we love the relaxed family atmosphere (also it is loud so we don't have to worry about the noise our crew can make).  I couldn't leave dinner without some singing because if they didn't sing we wouldn't get an elephant ear!!!

On the actual day of his birthday we celebrated with Grammy and Pop Pop for a quick dinner at Taco Lu then home for presents and brownie sundaes! The kids got daddy tennis rackets so he could play with them (they are taking lessons).  You may notice that I said rackets and not racket.  Dylan insisted that we get two rackets so mommy could have one too.  He wanted to play as a family.  His big gift was from his parents, grandparents, and me which was a Garmin for his bike.

Happy Birthday Daddy!! We love you!!!

First Day Back at the Beach

Florida decided to skip Winter and now I think it has decided to skip Spring too! Normally in March it isnt warm enough to put bathing suits on much less go in the water.  It was a perfect day between the weather and the friends we went with.  The plan was to put the babies into the nursery but since both of them were happy little campers we decided to let them play too.  Blake has never been to the beach before and just as I expected he, just like Abby did at this age, thought the sand was better in his mouth than on the beach :-).  Colby, Dylan and Abby played in the waves but Liam wanted nothing to do with the water.  Nikki and I camped out under the palm covered cabana with Declan and Blake keeping them away from the rays.  If the other kiddos were not down by the water they were playing on the playground or playing in the sand.  The best part was that it was warm enough to be there but just cool enough to be comfortable.  I need to enjoy this before its 100*!!!

Pre Race Meal and McKenzie's Birthday

Ami came into town to run the River Run and unfortunately I had to bail out due to a sinus infection! So bummed but very happy she decided to still come and bring her kids for the night.  Lynn, Jon, and the girls came too! As the kids ran wild the adults did their best to have a conversation.  We celebrated McKenzie's birthday with cupcakes and singing.  The night ended with Brooke giving the kids rides down the stairs on a pottery barn kids chair.  Brooke was very reassuring that what she was doing was safe.  I just wish I could have gotten a picture of them riding down the stairs on this chair.

I am so thankful for the friendships I have with Lynn and Ami (Dawn too).  So many years and so many memories we have together.  Weird to see us with all of our kids in one place.

Happy 1/2 Birthday Blake!

Oh my I am going to have to start planning the big 1st birthday bash soon!!  How do we let time slip by so quickly?  Is it life in general or do we seem to make ourselves so bust that before we know it time has fast forwarded right before our eyes?  Or maybe seeing Blake grow up so fast is really just mommy having bitter sweet feelings of losing the last little baby in the house.  Either way its been such a fun journey so far with this little man and I cannot wait to see what the days ahead are filled with.

In the last month Blake has finally slept 12 hours!!! Took him long enough :-).  He rolls over the floor, grabs at toys, laughs out loud, has an instant smile when he sees mommy, daddy or one of his siblings. He has also been rocking on all fours but in the last few days he is actually army crawling all over the place.  It wont be long until he is officially crawling and we wont be able to keep up with him.
He weighed in at 16lbs 11 oz (25th-50th%) and 27 inches (25%) at his doctors appointment.

Opening Ceremonies

Head Coach and his 2 best players

Big brother and Little Brother

Another season is about to begin and this year we have two boys playing and Scott is going to coach both teams!!  This is Dylan's first year playing and he is so excited.  He has patiently watched his big brother play the last 2 years.  Dylan will be playing on the Jr TBall team.  Colby has advanced to the Sr TBall.  Thankfully the people who put the schedule together realized Scott is head coach for both teams and the games are never at the same time (lucky for daddy but extremly time consuming for mommy).

Tonight they annouced the players and coaches for each team.  Sang the National Anthem and officially began the start of the season.

So excited
