Maturnity Pictures

After weeks of trying to get the rain to stop we finally were able to get our pictures done! We went to the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club to have them taken since the kids are familiar with the surroundings there.  Because it is the middle of the summer here we decided to meet Brittani there at 8 am to avoid extreme heat or humidity.  Well we didn't avoid either...good ole Florida weather.  Here are some of the shots she got of our family and my belly which has our 4th a final bundle of joy.

Brittani is awesome at candid pictures with my kids ans is always waiting for an opportunity get them in action.  Here are a few of my favorites.

Typical Dylan typical...true boy!!

She caught the "Abby Look"

After we were done we went to Beach Diner for breakfast and I realized Abby had her dress on wrong the entire time! Oh well...lets just hope baby #4 makes it to the pictures ;-)

Uncle Shawn and "soon to be" Aunt Jodi visit

Scott's middle brother and his fiance came to Jacksonville and stayed about 5 days.  They love the beach so no better place to stay but the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club.  Unfortunately we had horrible weather the entire time they were here.  Only one day did we get to hang out on the beach with them and that was only for about 2 hours at most.  They came over for dinner one night, we went out with no kids another, met for lunch, they joined us at Monkey's jungle to play games with the kids, cheered Scott on during his 1st mini triatholon and they came over to our house several times to play with the kids.  The boys loved playing with Uncle Shawn since he has fun throwing them up in the air.  Abby fell in love with Jodi and like always she was hesitant around Uncle Shawn (its all men but daddy).  I am so happy they chose to come to our home town to spend their vacation.  It was really nice to get to know Jodi.  We are thrilled to have her become part of the family soon!

Scott's 1st Mini Triathlon

For Scott's birthday he got a nice bike to start riding longer distances and possible start doing some races.  As you can see Colby was hoping that he would get to ride along with daddy :-).  He dove right into it all...the helmet, bike shorts, the jersey's, the shoes, computerized speedometer, and good golly knows what else (hence our credit card thought it had been stolen after the purchase).

After riding for a few months, swimming laps in the pool, and throwing in a few runs here and there he decided to dive right into his first mini triathlon!!  He wasn't going to make any records but to simply see what it was all about.  He made a personal goal: 1. finish the race 2. finish under 1:30.  He did awesome and to cheer him on the kids and I went out, signs in hand, to support him.  Scott's brother and fiance were visiting so I talked them into coming out to be part of the cheering squad along with neighbors Trevor and Katie.  I think he was surprised with his fans being there! Colby was so thrilled to get to cheer daddy on and now wants to do his own next summer.  We have lots of work do help him get ready but willing to do so if that is what he wants to do!!  BTW - for kids its only a 2 miles bike ride, 1/2 mile run, and 2 laps in a pool (no ocean swim).
Go Daddy Go!!!

Starting the last leg of race - 3 mile run

Shawn and Jodi

Jason Sessions - finishing his 2nd race

4th of July Parade

Today the kids participated in our annual 4th of July parade from the park to the pool.  Colby decorated his bike and Dylan decorated the wagon for him and Abby to ride in.  This year a firetruck came from our local fire station to lead the parade to the pool.  The best part of the parade is getting to the pool area and having Bruester's Ice Cream!!!

Pool Party

Kim and Frank invited us, the Harkness's and the Veniards to come over to play in the pool.  We all brought some appetizers and drinks.  Kim provided the yummy desserts.  The kids had a blast playing together and jumping from the wall.  The best part is that Colby followed right along and didn't even fear that he would be jumping in where he could not stand.  Since we are all so busy with everyday life, our kids, and work its hard to stop and play some.  I am so happy we were able to work it out and make some fun memories.
