Dylan, the helmet & new mini van

We are leaving to go get lunch with my friend and her 2 daughters as Dylan picks up his bike helmet and proceeds to put it on his head.  He gets in the car and I ask "Dylan why are you wearing your helmet?' he responds and says "to be safe mommy".

The mini van has been apart of our lives for about a month and I will admit I do love it.  Seriously I didn't think I was taking corners at full speed or driving it like we were on a roller coaster.  Kids hold on tight Dylan is ready to go and mommy wants to have some fun :-)!!!

Scott's Birthday

Oops :-)

Scott turned 38 this year!!  Now that we have kids we love to spend our day with them.  Kids make the day feel so much more like a birthday over the feeling of "another year gone".  Its becoming tradition that we eat at Red Elephant Pizza on birthdays and the cake is choosen by the birthday person.  This year Scott wanted  me to make Rocky Road Cheesecake which is "no bake" so that was easy!!

He wanted a good riding bike but since they are pretty expensive he asked the family members to give him money to help purchase the bike.  Thank goodness they did because the bike alone wasnt what broke the bank but he needed a helmet, riding shorts, shoes, clips for the pedals, and a few more accessories.  Before I knew what this was going to cost I wanted him to have a few things to open on his birthday along with the kids kept asking "what are getting daddy for his birthday?".  I had fun shopping in Tommy Bahama for him came out with 2 shirts and 2 pair of shorts.  Both of which look pretty good on the "old" man :-).

Funny Conversation with the boys

Dylan: mommy I am really excited there is a baby coming to our house next week
Me: really is it our baby?
Dylan: I think so
Me: girl or boy
Dylan & Colby: boy
Me: so Abby and I will be the only girls?
Colby: no we could have another boy and 2 more girls
Dylan: Whatcha think mommy?
Me: I think you are all CRAZY!!!

By the way - they still do not know mommy is having another baby.  They just talk about us being a family of 6.

Opening Ceremonies 2011

Spring T-Ball is back with Daddy coaching and Mr Chris assisting.  This year we have a great team of friends!  Cant wait to see how these little guys have improved since last year! Tonight the Jacksonville Beach Baseball Association opens the fields to the teams, introduces each team to the fans, announces the All Star team from last year, sings the national anthem and finally "Let the Games begin!".

After the ceremonies were over the Barksdales came over for dinner.  Another one of our spontaneous nights everyone is in PJ's, kids are playing, and we are chatting away in the kitchen as we eat, drink & be merry.  Lauren came out and calmly said something to her daddy (Chris) since she was so quiet Cari, Scott & I continued talking.  Chris got up to see what she wanted.  Within 30 seconds Carter came running out of the boys room saying "mommy Colby fell from the bunk bed" and I hear Chris calling me into the room.  Weird there was NO crying and why wasn't everyone alarmed when it first happened.  Colby was laying in the corner and his head was bleeding.  At this point he starts to whimper a bit because he sees blood.  I take him into the bathroom to "triage"  my little boy.  Oh boy he has split his head open so here we come ER! He then starts to complain of his left wrist hurting.  There is no swelling or deformity but since we will be in the ER for staples there is no reason why we cant get his wrist x-rayed.  Thank goodness for Cari and Chris.  As I packed the diaper bag for Dylan and Abby they cleaned up the kitchen then took the kids back to their house.  SO thankful for such wonderful friends.

On our way down to Wolfson's I asked Colby what happened.  He said Lauren was handing him a stuffed animal and he was leaning over to grab it.  Unfortunately he leaned too far and he said his head hit the train table and that was why it was bleeding.  He didn't know why his wrist hurt.  I asked him why he didn't cry and his response was "I couldn't cry".  My assumption is he had his breath knocked out of him.

Dr Tracy Tyson looked at  him and with one press on the wrist she knew it was fractured.....WHAT???? First T-Ball game was in the morning!  I couldn't believe how well Colby took the news that he could not play in the game.  He was such a trooper.  What a proud mommy and daddy we were.  After 2 staples in his head and a soft cast we were on our way home.....not before we stopped to get him a McDonald's Chocolate Milkshake!!!

Week 12

I am 12 weeks and 2 days along.  Because I am a "geriatric" pregnant person I am being followed by the ROC group.  All test show that baby is developing great and at this time there are no problems physically.  We are so very blessed to have experienced such great pregnancies.
