Got to love him

Dylan Dylan Dylan :-) :-) :-) he truly is a character in so many ways.  Always in rare form ready to tease, play, act like a clown and most of the time in his own little world.  Oh those lips that form the sweetest smile EVER and the eyes....what in the world will we do with him?!?!
He was asked to get dressed, we were heading out to dinner, and this is what he comes up with...

Mandatory Trip

Ok Ok it wasn't mandatory but I think that moms should have weekends with their friends away from all reality!!! The one thing I love about my three best friends is that we make it one of our biggest priorities to put a get together on the calendar twice a year.  I am sure if you asked our husbands they would say it feels like we do it much more often and if you ask us we would say we need to do it much more often :-).

This time we went to Ft Lauderdale to meet Mr Matthew Cottler.  What a cutie his is!!!

A few cuddles from each of us and off we went to stay at the Boca Beach Resort.  Honestly I am not sure we knew exactly what we were getting from this place when we booked.  When we pulled up and saw the fancy cars pulling in we had to laugh and wonder if these 4 loud girls (who like to bum around in PJ's) would fit in.  Somehow we managed and I believe it may be on our favorites list.

Thanks to Ami's hubby who was able to get us such a good rate with his Hilton Rewards and the awesome room upgrade.  Since this was a resort they said we would have to pay $40 extra per person per night so we decided to do the high school thing and tell them there were only two of staying.  Valet was our only option for our cars and with a place like this it is customary to let the bell hops take your bags and bring them to your room. Ami, with several attempts, told them we could get our bags. Honestly you would have thought that since we were only staying for 2 days that there wouldn't have been a lot of stuff but don't kid yourself it looked like we were moving in.  Finally, we got her to cave and let them help us with our bags.  He kept asking her "all of this stuff?".  Yup all of this just for the two of us ;-) ;-)!  Once we were checked in Ami took a line drive towards the rolling cart trying to beat the bell hop to it so she could just take it herself.  Once she realized she was not going to win she decided to walk as fast as she could with the bell hop and leave us behind. Not sure if she was trying to avoid the question if all of us were staying in one room or if it was because Dawn was laughing so loud that the walls were vibrating.

This was only the beginning of some good laughs, great talks, and one more weekend that we filled with wonderful memories!!!  Its been 20+ years of friendship...can't wait to see what we are doing in 20 more years.

Abby's Away the Boys will Play

Abby is in a camp this week with her best friend Ryleigh so I had the chance to get me some good quality time with my boys.  We took off to the beach to make sandcastles, play in the sand, jump the waves, and play in the pool.  It is such a joy watching them interact and play like two best friends.

Too Cute

As I was in the kitchen preparing a Father's Day pancake breakfast I look up to see Colby doing this...

I ask him what he is doing and he responded with "I am reading the paper like daddy does".  All I can say is MELT MY HEART!  Not sure if you can see but he is reading the sports page.

Pre-Father's Day Celebration

We have such an awesome daddy that we just could not wait to celebrate him!!! Along with that Father's Day was going to be a busy day so we wanted to be sure we showed daddy how much we appreciate him.  After a good meal cooked on the grill we opened presents and topped it off with a cookie cake.

Last year I asked the kids questions about daddy and did the same this year so he could see how their answers changed. I hope to keep this up each year....what fun it will be to look back on their answers.

So blessed to have the BEST daddy ever!!  We love you!!

Picnic on the driveway

Colby came to me tonight and said "Mommy I have a great idea! You should bring Blakes' seat outside and feed him on the driveway so we can play!"  Wow he is growing up...thinking of ways to make it work for everyone! Then he came up with another brilliant idea and wanted me to bring their dinner outside so they could picnic on the driveway.  Unfortunately it didn't last too long since the bugs and flies wanted to bother us :-(.  Kids gladly came inside to finish their dinner.

Starting the summer off right

Finally it was our first day with no plans and it was actually sunny (we have had over 12 inches of rain in the last 2 weeks).  Kids put on their swim suits and out we went to play in the sprinkler and make our version of a water park. We are very excited for the sun to come back for a long time so we can enjoy the pool, beach, water park, and lots of outdoor fun.

Watching the snow cone maker in action

Enjoying our snow cones...that's our water slide in the back ground :-)

Kid Free Birthday Friday!!

What an amazing day regardless of the cloudy and windy day we had.  I started my day off with a 90 minute massage, which was incredible.  Could have been when the lady asked me what I needed and I responded with "peace and quiet".  Absolutely hate going in for a massage and all the person wants to do is talk.  Then off to the club to meet my hubby for lunch.  Since the weather wasn't too pretty we decided to eat at the golf club and try something different.  Ironically we sat next to a table that had 8 kids sitting there.  Then back to the beach side to sit in the hot tub (yes in June we sat in the hot tub with grey skies and cooler weather) and sit by the pool.  With no kids around we decided to make the most of it.  I talked Scott into joining me for a pedicure before going to dinner.

I decided Roy's would be our place to celebrate the night.  Love the atmosphere, the wine and the food! So excited to have Nikki AKA Nicole and her husband Mark join us.  We have been joined at the hip and by text messages for the last three years.  At this point in life its great to have friends that are easy to talk to and laugh with.  Thanks Mark and Nikki for helping me celebrate!

Many thanks to my thoughtful and loving husband for planning this day for me.  Also thank you Grammy and Pop Pop for coming over to be with the kids once Bobbi Lynn left for the day.
