Dylan is 5!!

Another 5th birthday celebrated in the Batsch house! This little man seems to have grown much quicker than his older brother.  Seriously where did the years go?  Dylan has brought so much fun and laughter to our house.  He is our clown and thinks everything is fun and games.  With that said he is the one we have to redirect quite often so that we can get him to focus and do what we are asking.

He has a mind of his own.  He doesn't mind saying no if he doesn't want to do what others are doing.  He is timid to try new things.  For example: would not get on a kayak without daddy holding onto it from the dock or trying his new bike/skateboard ramp he got for his birthday.  Foods he seems to stick with what he is used to.  We have had to make the rule that he will order new things and eat what we give him.  Funny thing is once he tries a new activity or the new food he typically likes it!!!

His favorite foods right now are broccoli, green apples, green grapes, carrots, cucumbers, and spaghetti!!  Lets not fool the crowd because he would turn into a cow to eat chick fil a everyday if that was possible.  In the summer time he would rather your pool be filled with chocolate so he could swim and eat all at the same time.

One of his favorite books is The Enormous Crocodile by Roald Dahl.  I bought this book when I was in England and it came with a small stuffed crocodile.  He loves it when I tease and have the croc eat him while I read the story.  He has become obsessed with Ninjago (the show) and anything that he sees with Ninjago on it.  Favorite movie might be either Cars 2, Toy Story or Nemo 3D (not realizing we cannot see Nemo in 3D at our house).  He loves to fish, play soccer, and play catch with daddy.  He plays baseball too but think he needs a bit more attention span to say he loves it.  And now that he learned to ride his bike with no training wheels he cannot wait to go outside so he can show off his confidence on 2 wheels.

Although he may be a bit more difficult he is 1000X's more sweet! He loves to cuddle and loves to give kisses.  His puppy dogs eyes get me almost every time!

Happy 5th Birthday Dylan! We cannot wait to see you grow more and more over the years to come.  You are so special to us and we love you more than you could even imagine!

Dylan's Day of Celebration:

At the end of the night we took a family picture by setting the timer.  After we got a normal picture we all got off the couch set the timer and jumped into position.  Many of these are just for us to remember the fun we liked to have with one another.  To others it will seem like the same picture over and over.

All good but Colby closed his eyes...Hey Colby keep your eyes open please

We got what we asked for...look at Colby's eyes

Love the smiles

Colby's last Soccer game - Fall 2012

Another season of soccer came to an end tonight.  This has been a weird and hectic season to say the least.  The 1st 2 /12 weeks the games and practices kept getting cancelled because of rain.  Everyday we would be waiting for the email to see if we would be packing up and heading out.  The worst part about it was most of the time Colby had eaten his snack to fuel up for the game and was dressed in uniform before we would know if the game wasn't going ot be played.  Matter of fact there were a few times that we were on our way to the game before we knew if it was cancelled.  On top of all that Dylan was on another team on another night of the week and his were getting cancelled too.  Thank goodness Cari and I were communicating and keeping one another in line.  If not we would have had the wrong kids at the wrong games and possible might not have made it to some of the games.

In the end it was a fun season and Colby had a good time.  The running around helped his energy level and he somewhat started to learn the game a little bit better.  He says he still wants to play next year.

Final pictures and trophy pizza party......

Our First Visit from the Tooth Fairy

Finally, after months of anticipation, Colby lost his 1st tooth!!!  At the dentist, 6 months ago, we were told his bottom teeth were loose.  Waiting for them to get more loose we discovered they were staying strong and the top tooth was the 1st to fall out.  Colby played with this tooth for about a month trying to get it as loose as it could so he could pull it out.  Then, as he was brushing his teeth this morning, he said he felt something in his mouth and wasn't sure what it was.  When he reached in he realized it was his tooth.  From the screams of excitement coming down the stairs both daddy and I knew exactly what had happened.  Love seeing his toothless smile over loosing his 1st tooth!!!

This is the tooth box I made him from an Altoids box.  He picked out the scrapbook paper and we found tooth stickers.  I cannot give myself credit for the idea but to my new best friend Pinterest.  This was my first time using Mod Podge and that stuff is AMAZING!!! For some reason 2 of the pictures below are sideways.  They are not like this in my computer but when I downloaded them into the blog this is the way they are being displayed.  Thought the box was too cute to not show.
