Happy New Year!
New Years Eve isn't a big night for us. We enjoy staying home in our PJ's, making some of our favorite appetizers and drinking our beverage of choice. This year Scott was busy painting Abby's "big girl" room and I was busy doing some house organization. We did sit together to eat, watch some of Dick Clark's New Years Rockin Eve and made sure to be with one another as the ball dropped so we could ring in 2012 with a kiss!
Alligator Farm
We took daddy to the Alligator Farm today! Colby and Dylan have been asking to take daddy for a very long time. The last time we went Abby was in my belly which made the boys 3 and 18 months old! Originally we had planned to go earlier in the week but it was cold and I afraid the alligators would be in hiding to keep warm. Its not all that big of a place and personally I think it is a total rip off but seeing the joy it brought to the kids made it all worth it!
Abby insisted I take a picture of her riding the alligator |
So creepy |

So I bet you are wondering where our precious baby is?? Sleeping in the stroller :-) we didn't feed him to the alligators!

New Years Eve Eve Tradition
Last year we went out the night before New Years Eve with John and Bonnie and we decided to do it again this year and hope to make this a tradition. None of us like to do anything the actual night of New Years Eve if we cannot be in PJ's so the before is our fun night out. This year we went to st Augustine to have dinner at The Tasting Room followed with ice cream from Kilwins and looking at the lights. Its always a fun night when we are with the Brogles!

Hard Days Work
The journey has begun and we are finally starting on Abby's big girl room! The closet was torn out to make room for her new dresser which both boys felt the need to help daddy. Chair rail was taken down which made a mess...daddy had to repair walls before painting could begin.
As the day progressed the boys began to draw on the walls to make the room look "pretty". Colby thought it would be a good idea for him to draw the trees, flowers, birds that mommy wants vs us having the lady who does it professionally come in to do it. Brian and Andrew, next door neighbors, came in to join the fun.
Now we just need to keep reminding them all that writing on the walls was fun that ONE time only. Can you imagine if they decide to do this once we repaint the walls????

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party
The holidays for us wouldn't be the same without celebrating with Mickey Mouse and his gang. We took another fun trip to Disney for Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party. This year Grammy and Pop Pop joined in on the fun along with Papa and Nana (who stayed back with Blake at the condo). We started the day off at Epcot to ride Test Track and Soarin, two of the busiest rides at Disney.
After a morning filled with rides, lunch and fun we came home for naps so we could all be rested up for the big party. We all couldn't wait for short lines, hot chocolate, cookie, fireworks and the parade.
The night began with rides, then hot chocolate and cookies, more rides, hot chocolate and cookies, fireworks, parade and ended with a few more rides. We left the park at midnight, got held up at the mono rail due to maintenance and finally home in bed at 2 AM!!! Yes my kids made it all the way til then and did GREAT!!
Before I let this night end I must tell the story of Pop Pop and Colby.....
Pop Pop, Grammy, Colby, Dylan and I went on Splash Mountain. Pop Pop is a huge fan of roller coasters but he had not been on this one and I am not sure we gave him too much of a choice. As we were walking to the ride Colby kept saying to Pop Pop "its not that scary...just a little bit but not that much". He told Pop Pop this several times. Then as we got to the part of the ride where the log had to climb the hill so we could do the 70 foot drop Colby says to Pop Pop "actually its really scary". Too funny. Once we were done Pop Pop yelled "holy moly guacamole!!"
The next day Scott and I were not sure what we wanted to do since there was not much sleep the night before. Since the boys really wanted to ride more rides we took them to Hollywood Studios for Star Tours and Tower of Terror. Abby came along but unfortunatly there isnt much she could do there. She found things to keep her entertained while her big brothers were on rides.
We ended the weekend with a family dinner in PJ's at the condo, 101 Dalmatians, and early to bed :-). It was a fabulous weekend. The best part is to see the smiles on my children's faces!!!
