Halloween

What to be on Halloween is always the big decision.  As ideas were beginning to spark the kids originally wanted us to dress up as the Fab 5 from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  Basically it would have been daddy as Donald, mommy as Daisy, Colby wanted to be Goofy, Dylan would be Mickey, Abby as Minnie and the baby would be Pluto (at the time Blake was not born yet).  As fun as last year was being the Toy Story gang I wasn't too sure I would be up for this soon after the baby was born.  Thankfully time passed and they changed their mind.  Now Colby wants to be a ghost and Dylan wants to be a clown (this kid could go as himself since he is already such a clown).  Both of them wanted Abby to be a princess but I decided to wait on that since she isn't into the whole princess thing yet.  I am glad we waited for her costume because we found the perfect one for her....A Bee!!  That has become her favorite word...A Bee A Bee!! Anytime she gets hurt she says "a bee".  Blake was a pumpkin and that was because I already had pumpkin PJ's from when Dylan or Abby were born.

In the past our kids have been too young to get the concept of going door to door for candy.  So we would do a few houses, see friends in the neighborhood and then come home to hang in the driveway to hand out candy.  This year all three didn't want to stop.  Colby was having fun with Jackson, Dylan was excited to tell us every piece he got, and Abby walked with Katie or wanted to be in the wagon so she could get a head start on the chocolate (wonder who she takes after??).  Their pumpkins were full to the top.

We added to our fun and chaotic family by having the O'Sullivans over to trick or treat.  They joined us last year too.  I hope this is a tradition that wont end!!

Blakes Smiles caught on camera.....FINALLY!!

Blake has been smiling for about a week now but I could never catch it on camera.  Today we were sitting together on the couch and he was smiling from ear to ear and wouldn't stop.  All I had next to me was my phone and thankfully it took some great pictures of his adorable smile.  I love the one where he is sticking his tongue out!

Zac Brown Band Concert

We found out a few months ago that Zac Brown Band was coming in concert and it was a given that I would be there.  Once the date was set I quickly counted to see how old baby #4 would be and it was looking like he/she would be about 7-8 weeks old.  Nana was contacted to see if she would come take care of the kids, tickets were bought and it was a date that I couldn't wait for.  We bought 2 extra tickets and invited John and Bonnie.  We went for drinks and appetizers at Bistro X before the concert then off we went.  I have to say it was one of the better concerts I have ever been to.  Between being away from reality, good company and great music it was a GREAT night.

Some kids thought Mr John was dressing up for Halloween :-)

It was getting late and we still had not went on a search for the great pumpkin. Last night we packed the kids up and journeyed out to see if we could find the perfect one to carve. A few picture of the kids, some playtime for them too and then we found our perfect pumpkin to bring home.

Spooktacular

This year we decided to go attend Spooktacular on a school night vs a Friday or Saturday night.  What a fabulous decision we made!  It was so much less crowded than last year.  The zoo had candy stations for the kids to "trick or treat" at, a DJ playing music, pumpkin patches, bounce houses, a pirate cove, and an enchanted forest.  The kids had fun eating their candy throughout the zoo and dancing to the music.  There were a few "scare zones" which were not recommended for ages under the age of 10.  Colby and Dylan wanted to go through one but we decided since we already are not getting any sleep due to Blake we didn't want it to be a longer night by getting up because of nightmares.  Abby loved the candy most of all :-)!
