Fishing with Daddy

Daddy took the boys across the street to fish in Mr Franks pond this afternoon.  Colby and Dylan have been practicing casting their lines in the backyard.  Daddy put a cork on the end of the line and they would try to make it in a bucket.  Although they find this fun it was time to try it for real.  Both boys did really well casting the lines into the water.  They even had Kim and Frank watching from their pool.

Dylan caught the first fish but he got away.  Then a few minutes later he caught another one.  He was so cute and so very excited saying "daddy I caught a fish I caught one!!".  Daddy came quickly to help him reel it in.

Colby had the next catch after saying he had a fish a few time but opps he got away :-)!  For some reason he didn't want to touch the fish and wanted daddy to come get the fish and quick.  Funny thing is I am not sure they have ever really taken the fish off the line so daddy always gets the fish and throws him back into the pond.

Of course these are not fish that we would bring home to cook for dinner daddy convinced the boys they needed to come touch the fish before throwing him back in.  Dylan, silly little boy, said "he's all wet"......really wonder why?!?!?

Last but not least we cannot leave out our sweet little girl who was playing in the tackle box.  She wanted to play with all the rubber worms and hooks.  One day she will have her own fishing pole just like her big brothers.

As we were heading home the other neighbors were outside so we went to their backyard to check out their new patio which has a hot tub and a fire pit.  Colby, Dylan, and Abby were actually playing in the fire pit.  It still has sand in the bottom plus they haven't used the pit quite yet since its still 100 degrees outside.  Abby made herself at home in one of the little chairs and then had a fabulous look as Dylan came to sit down next to her.
